Owl Canvas finally rescheduled!

Let's shake those winter blues and get painting!  This is an beginner-intermediate class. Bring your own canvas and paint is included. Please bring your brushes, sponge, plate/double loader, water basin, paper towels, graphite paper, a pencil and a table easel.  Canvas size can be either 15" x 30" (used for the sample) or 12" x 24" (if you want a smaller painting).

Two generations of artists

There is no doubt where I got my artistic talent from; my mother.  My mom has been painting these fabulous birds on plaques using acrylic paint this winter and has over thirty of them done so far.  We visited two weeks ago and she asked me to add some of my flowers to a few of her plaques.  Boy, was I nervous!  It turned out to be such a wonderful afternoon, sitting and talking with my mom while she watched me paint.

My two favorites are the first two plaques in the picture below:

I showed my mom how to do some easy pine branches the One Stroke way...

I added pine to the two cardinals below.  The adorable woodpecker in the middle is all my mom's.  I told her she needs to teach me how she did the tree bark the next time we get together!

Isn't my mom an amazing artist!

Snow Day

Today is a snow day and we went outside to build a snowman.  It started as a traditional snowman until I started carving away at it.  Too bad it will probably melt away by the weekend, but I'd rather have the warm weather!

Woil Teaser

This is one of the paintings I will be including in my class schedule.  I painted this over Christmas when I was visiting with my mom.

Painted Mailbox

We finally got my painted mailbox put up!  Now when you come to the house for a class, just look for the mammoth sized mailbox!

Happy New Year!

I had verbally rescheduled the owl canvas class for this Saturday, Jan 12th, but my oldest son has basketball that day, so that will not work out.  I won't be able to publish a winter class schedule until after we get my second son's basketball schedule, which we expect Jan 15th.

I can give you a teaser of what I am preparing... I've got three Woil paintings lined up, I will be rescheduling the owl canvas class, I will have at least two "back to basics" classes, and I am working on a four piece floral design. I am excited to get it all pulled together so I can share it with you!
